In the window - Lovers Lights Church Street Twickenham

it has taken some time for all the dust to settle since the move from The Green to Church Street and while it was a hard thing to leave The Green,  it’s very lovely to be down here in pretty Church Street, near to the river.  Our new shop is a tiny jewel and is a hub for work by local designer makers and artists working in and around the Richmond Borough, we do still have work by national guest artists though as I think its important to bring in fresh work from further afield as well as promoting our local creatives. Our new shop is now also co-manned by the artists whose work appears in the gallery so on any given day you can meet one of the artists and chat to them about their work.

So what will you find when you visit our gorgeous little artists haven here in Church Street?

Well Lovers Lights loves handmade lighting and that will never change – Lovers Lights chandelier lampshade and Ray Mallaney’s beautiful porcelain table lights are resident here as always and now twinkle up Church Street in fine fashion,  We also, I think, have the best selection of designer jewellery in the borough with a really have an amazing selection of work for all styles Slideshow5and budgets.

Add to that some rather lovely ceramics, glass, sculpture, textiles, cool artist produced greetings

cards and gorgeous fashion accessories, I think we’ve probably got it covered.

Headliner Lynn Ruth Miller is a total force of nature, at 82 she is the older working comedian (we think) in the world. Having just returned from The Melbourne Comedy Festival where her show got 5 star reviews, we are thrilled to be able to have her join us here in Twickenham.

Also expect some exciting new comedy talent from up and coming comedians

Music is by Haves and Haves and will be of course …amazing!

TWICK SHOP LOCALIts no secret that Twickenham has been suffering a bit over the last few years and the traders in our town have not found things easy, so a few of us are going to be putting together an exciting Totally Locally campaign, to try and reach out to our local residents as a gentle reminder that shopping local is a positive choice.  The internet is, for most of us now our go to resource when it comes to shopping and its become second nature to pop onto google and let Amazon do the work.  I’m no different, but alongside that, we all want the same thing, a vibrant thriving town that continues growing, going from strength to strength. Every time we choose a local shop over an online choice we are supporting and adding to our community.

I will be keeping you updated about our shop local campaigns from here as well as on facebook and twitter so please check out and LIKE our Twickenham Totally Locally facebook page, Totally Locally Twickenham, do please spread the word, together we CAN make a difference.
